Pripyat, Ukraine had almost 50,000 residents when they were evacuated in 1986 because of the Chernobyl “accident” that caused deadly radiation to spread throughout the city. It was the deadliest nuclear power plant disaster in history, and the city will remain abandoned because of the radiation that will be present for hundreds of years.

Eastern State Penitentiary
The Eastern State Penitentiary was opened on October 25, 1829 and hosted notorious criminals like Al Capone. It was closed in 1969, and today it hosts art exhibits and ghost tours.
